Background:
On the 25th of January in 2011, a revolution took place in Egypt that toppled the 30 year rule of Mubarak. As a result of the revolution, Egypt had its first ever free elections, bringing into office its first democratically elected president. But his presidency was short-lived, as a year later the military, led by AbdelFattah Al-sisi, outsted him in a bloody military coup. Thousands have been killed as a result, and 60,000 are political prisoners, many who are on death row despite not committing any crimes.
