Either way, make it your new year's resolution to attend UCC/Ritmüller Classical Artist in Residence David Syme's music appreciation workshops at UCC's Aula Maxima!
David Syme celebrates the new year with a programme of six events brimming with beautiful music and the intimate knowledge only a master musician can bring. Whether you want an introduction to the rich world of classical music or a deeper understanding of music you know well, these workshops will be full insights and not a few surprises.
This series’ programme:
- February 8 - Beethoven‘s Sonata opus 109 and Pathetique Sonata opus 13
- February 15 - Schumann Carnaval
- February 22 - Liszt Sonata in B minor
- March 8 - In aid of the victims of the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria, David Syme presents Chopin Sonata in B Flat Minor

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN
David Syme
David Syme is the first UCC/Ritmüller Classical Artist in Residence. An American concert pianist now residing in Ireland, he has toured internationally for decades, has been broadcast worldwide, and has recorded 2 dozen CDs as soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic (UK) and the Czech National Symphony. An alumnus of New York’s Juilliard School, he was given an honorary diploma by the Royal Irish Academy Of Music for his “contributions to Ireland’s cultural landscape”. He is best known in Ireland for his home concert series, West Cork Living Room Concerts, which attracts an international audience.
