Music for Galway in association with Arts in Action present the Austrian duo to perform a programme celebrating the 200th birthday of Clara Schumann, with additional material from the works of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms.

Thomas-Michael began piano lessons with his mother at the age of four and was introduced to the cello at the age of six. In 2015 he released his debut album, “Invitation to Dance”, a cross-section of dance music from Bach to Piazzolla. Thomas-Michael is an active chamber musician, co-founder of “the Klimt Quartet” and a regular substitute for the Vienna Philharmonic.

Maximilian started out on the piano at five years old and was admitted to the University for Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, at the tender age of nine. After graduating with distinction, he continued his studies at the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. Maximilian has performed internationally, from Berlin to Shanghai.

The pair have been working together since 2016 and are keen to focus not only on a classical repertoire, but also to champion contemporary Austrian music.with additional material from the works of Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms.
