Due to the currrent Covid 19 National Emergency, it was decided to defer this workshop to May 21st 2021.

This seminar addresses the pervasiveness of digital technologies in the lives of students and explores ways these technologies can be harnessed to enhance teaching and learning experience. The highlight of the seminar is a half-day workshop with former RTE Journalist and media production consultant and trainer, Aileen O’Meara Media. Participants learn practical skills to create high quality, low-cost open educational resources (OER) in video format using a smartphone.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Produce quality open educational resources (OER) video content for social media using a smart phone

  • Identify relevant technologies to enhance teaching and learning experience of students.

  • Incorporate these technologies into lesson planning and curriculum design.

  • Appraise effectiveness of these tools in terms of student engagement.
