Rebecca Edgeworth MD of Developing Edge and Maura Jakksen Byrne Owner of Your Business Smart Coach have joined forces to deliver an exceptional workshop for ‘Today’s People Manager’ to enable them to lead successfully, develop high performing teams and manage the everyday challenges that can present themselves.

As a professional with 20 Years’ Experience in Human Resource, Learning and Development, Employment Law, Rebecca Edgeworth understands the challenges that today's people manager faces and aims to share her knowledge, experience, best practice and techniques to support 'Today's People Manager' further develop their expertise in People Management, Team Dynamics and enhancing their own Leadership Skills.

Maura Jakksen Byrne has 35 years business experience. She is a Marketing Graduate, a qualified Senior Executive Coach and a Behavioural Analyst and runs a leadership development consultancy working with CEO’s and leadership teams in the Medical, Media, Recruitment and Food Industries. She has been an entrepreneur and a published author.

'Today's People Manager' - 2 Day Workshop


Today’s People Manager's work against a huge array of challenges including managing people who are not fully engaged while fending off competition from other employers. As only 1 in 3 employees is fully engaged, lower productivity and profits, pressure on business margins and higher numbers of employees changing jobs have become the norm. This puts a huge burden on managers to replace key people or energise below par employees at a time of talent shortages.

But how can we become better people managers and leaders ensuring higher employee retention, performance, motivation and engagement that directly affects business profits?

There is a way forward to better people management that uses proven scientific instruments and coaching practice. Essentially, People first leadership.

This two-day course presents a robust people management roadmap and is designed for anyone managing people that are eager to enhance their own people management and leadership skills.

The Outcome

  • Participants will leave equipped with an in-depth knowledge about Team Dynamics, the unconscious, psychological forces that influence the direction of a team’s behavior and the Impact of Team Dynamics on Performance. How using the Belbin Model in Team Development can support you dramatically in creating High Performing Teams.
  • Understand Leadership Styles and Approaches and how the DISC Model can transform an individual leader’s ability and performance by becoming aware of their innate strengths and motivations.
  • In addition, the Introduction to Coaching and Coaching Practice will allow participants to experience coaching and being coached and see why Coaching is at the forefront of Today’s People Management.
  • Our session on Emotional Resilience at Work will give participants a roadmap on how to successfully navigate through the challenges of Managing Conflict, themselves and their team while safeguarding mental health.
  • The Importance of Building Trust-Based Relationships with your Team.
  • Approaches to increase Team Motivation, Engagement and Retention.

Course Delivery

1. Theoretical + Practical

This course intends to nurture its participants with know-how and useful tools (Inc. Belbin , DISC and Case Studies) that can be applied daily in both Team Development and Leadership Development to provide a better understanding and information retention.

2. Group collaboration

To promote a more dynamic experience and seize the opportunity of a small number of people, all attendees will be encouraged to ask questions, share their own experiences, and broaden their networking. During the Introduction to Coaching, participants will break into couples to experience the practice of coaching and being coached.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations MUST be notified in writing to rebecca@developingedge.ie

A cancellation fee of 25% of the full fee will apply to cancellations received up to and on 11th of October 2019.

No refund can be made for cancellations received on or after 12th of October 2019.However, a substitution may be made at any time
