About this Event

Tom Treacy was a key person in relation to the significant events which took place in Kilkenny from 1914-1922 and beyond. His leadership as the Senior Irish Volunteer in County Kilkenny from 1914 until the end of the war of Independence is an important story. This talk will recount events and actions in Kilkenny and this important part of our decade of Centenaries. Commandant Larry Scallan is a Company Commander in the 3rd Infantry Battalion and stationed in James Stephen’s barracks. Larry has 32 years of service and has given many talks relating to Kilkennys Military History and Heritage. He was awarded Kilkenny person of the year 2019 for Heritage.​
