Who should attend?

  • The course is designed to those who are new to the food/food supplement industry who need practical knowledge about when and how to use nutrition and health claims in labelling and advertising

  • Suitable those in regulatory, nutrition, NPD or technical positions in the food industry.

  • The course may also be useful to those undertaking roles which require an understanding of nutrition and health claims to complete their roles e.g. supply chain, quality or marketing and sales functions.

The course will fully cover the EU Nutrition and Health claims Regulations 1924/2006 as well as other types of claims e.g. vegan/wholegrain/and will include practical sessions identifying examples of compliant use and misuse of claims in both a labelling and advertising context.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

•Understand the difference between a nutrition and health claim and the different categories of health claims

•Know how to search for approved nutrition and health claims and to understand conditions of use and accompanying information required on label and in advertising.

•Understand the requirements for making a non-specific health claim on pack or in advertising and permitted flexibility of wording.

•Have a working knowledge of the guidance on the use of other ‘marketing’ terms not covered by NHCR

•Review how compliance to health claims has been interpreted in real life situations.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Car parking at the Clayton Liffey Valley is free for those attending this event but is on a first come first served basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Getting to Liffey Valley from Dublin city centre:

By Road

Located just at the M50/N4 intersection, you can access the hotel from Dublin City Centre in 20 minutes. Head south on the R148 to the Chapelizod Bypass. Continue onto the N4 and at junction 2, take the R113 exit to Fonthill/Liffey Valley. Follow the road left and the hotel will be located to your left.
