The first hour focuses on terminology and language. The second hour focuses on the lived experience. The aim of the training is to improve knowledge of the trans community, demystify any misunderstandings and build empathy.

2: Athena SWAN presentation

This presentation will provide guidance on how to evaluate any available evidence to illustrate what steps an HEI has taken or will action to ensure a working and/or studying environment is inclusive of trans people. It would draw on the experience of RCSI since applying for and achieving an Institutional Bronze Award on the expanded application. This presentation will be delivered by RCSI’s Athena SWAN Project Officer.

3: A panel discussion on practical advice considering how to create a trans inclusive environment

The panel discussion will provide an opportunity to demonstrate how policy and training can be put into practice. The panel discussion will be facilitated by TENI and include representation from trans people and higher education sector representatives.

This workshop is aimed at those working the HEI and EDI sectors. Suitable for over 18's.
