Event description
A fun discussion-based course delivered by a psychologist for children with ADHD transitioning from primary school to secondary school

About this event

Moving from primary to secondary school can be a challenging experience for children, especially when you have ADHD. This transitions programme – based on the Belonging Plus+ schools programme – aims to support students with ADHD moving from 6th class to 1st year. Through activities and discussion, your child will have the opportunity to talk in a safe and fun environment about how to prepare for secondary school.

This five week programme will take place every Wednesday at 6pm, from the 4th August until the 1st September. Across the five weeks, we’ll cover: transitions and time management; homework and study; listening and social skills; friendships and safety; and physical and mental health.

This programme is delivered by Emma McEnaney, a psychologist with experience in student mental health and teaching children with special needs. Emma is energetic, enthusiastic about bringing out the best in each child, and strives to be inclusive of what makes each child special.
