A workshop on early modern translations, literary, religious and scientific, featuring Prof. Neil Rhodes (St Andrews) on Chapman's translation of Homer, Dr Francesco Lucioli (UCD/La Sapienza) on Neo-Latin translations of Ariosto's Orlando furioso, Prof. Iolanda Plescia (La Sapienza) on seventeenth-century English translations of Galileo, Annie Khabaza (UCD) on Richard Stanihurst's astonishing translation of the first four books of Virgil's Aeneid, and Dr Paola Baseotto (Insubria) on new translations of the Psalter by English Marian exiles in Geneva.
Chaired by Prof. Jane Grogan (UCD), and hosted by the UCD College of Arts and Humanities, Thresholds of Knowledge research theme.
