Event description
Transphobia in Irish Sport: making our clubs more diverse and inclusive!

About this Event

With the support of the Fare Network, Sporting Pride Ireland will be hosting a workshop on "Transphobia in Irish Sport: making our clubs more diverse and inclusive" as part of #FootballvHomophobia month! This event will take place in Marino College (Dublin 9) on Saturday February 22nd from 12pm. The Transgender Equality Network of Ireland (TENI) will deliver a one hour tailored Trans 101 presentation on terminology, the lived experience of being trans and how to be a good trans ally which will enable sports clubs to be more inclusive of transgender people.

This will be followed by a panel discussion hosted by our committee member and transgender activist Philippa Ryder. The panel will consist of Andy Martin (TranSports, TENI), Gordon Grehan (TENI), Helen McHugh (Sport Ireland Diversity, Inclusion & Safeguarding Manager), and Matt Kennedy (Transgender Athlete).

Light refreshments will be provided after the panel discussion.

Please register your attendance in advance. This event is free to attend but if you wish to make a donation to TENI you can do so on the day.
