About this event

This fantastic show is a 45-minute recital of Irish and Québécois music, song ,and 'sean nós' dancing (from Quebec),

Featuring artists:

Kate Bevan-Baker (Fiddler/Singer)

Martine Billette (Piano/Step Dancer)

Gearóid Ó hAllmhuráin (Concertina/Director)

This is followed by a 70-minute Musical Documentary on the history of Irish Famine diaspora in Quebec.

It's the story of an Irish-speaking family from the West of Ireland who were sent to Canada in 1847 and who eventually became French speakers without ever learning English - a theme that will resonate strongly with audiences.

The story is told from a family perspective and follows five descendants from the original immigrants on an emotional return journey to Ireland 168 years later.

The film is narrated by Vincent Woods (RTÉ Arts Programme).
