Launch of TU Dublin Student Entrepreneurship Programme Calendar for 2019 - 2020 with International Guest Speaker Dr W. Bernard Carlson.

About this Event

TU Dublin are delighted to welcome International Guest Speaker Dr W. Bernard Carlson to discuss the topic of Innovation and Entrepreneurship with students, staff and industry partners on Tuesday 19th of November 2019.

“I am excited about coming to the Grangegorman campus to celebrate the accomplishments of the entrepreneurial students and researchers at TU Dublin. It will be a great opportunity to talk about what we need to do to nurture the talent of the next generation of innovators.” explains Dr Carlson.

Dr Carlson will join TU Dublin President FitzPatrick, TU Dublin Student Union President Yimbog and Professor Brian O’Neill, Director and Dean of the Graduate Research School for the launch of the 2019-2020 TU Dublin Student Entrepreneurship programme.

Registration is free but places are limited. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Dr W. Bernard Carlson Biography:

Bernie Carlson is a lecturer in the TechInnovate program at the National University of Ireland Galway as well as the Vaughan Professor of Humanities and Chair of the Department of Engineering and Society at the University of Virginia. He also directs the Technology Entrepreneurship program at UVa. Bernie studied history and physics as an undergraduate at Holy Cross College, earned his Ph.D. in the history and sociology of science at the University of Pennsylvania, and did his postdoctoral work at the Harvard Business School. He has written widely on the innovation process as well as on the role of technology in the rise and fall of civilizations. His books include Technology in World History, 7 volumes (Oxford University Press) as well Tesla: Inventor of the Electrical Age. (Princeton University Press) which has been translated into eleven languages. In addition to his books, Bernie has filmed 36 lectures on "Understanding the Inventions that Changed the World" for The Great Courses. He has advised a variety of organizations on the culture of innovation, and for over a decade, consulted with Corning Incorporated. Bernie is a regular contributor to Forbes.com, writing on innovation and the modern economy.
