Sustainable Gardening Course Tuam
About this event
Galway County Council: Tuam Area Office, Heritage office and Galway County Public Participation Network are delighted to offer this FREE in person Sustainable Gardening Course designed to get everyone improving their gardens and community areas for biodiversity, eliminating harmful chemicals and learning about drought resistant plants.
The workshop will be run over one day from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday the 9th of July at the Palace Grounds.
It is of particular interest to tidy towns groups, community groups and those trying to improve their planting for biodiversity and create habitats. This session is practical in nature so even if you have completed the online Sustainable Gardening course you will still get a lot from this. You will need to bring Gardening gloves, sensible footwear and rainwear/sun protection with you on the day.
During the course participants will get the chance to learn about Irish pollinators and how to protect them, to dig without damaging their back, take cuttings, sow seeds and prune trees. There will be notes sent out to everyone after the session and lots of time for questions and answers too.
Please note that all information supplied when filling in this form will be shared with Aoife Munn and Galway County Council for the administration and running of the session.
