UCC Tree Tour
Event Information
Description
As part of University College Cork's Community Week, Dr Eoin Lettice will lead a tour of UCC's tree collection on its award-winning, green-flag campus. Dating back to 1849, the tree collection is made up over 2,500 trees and 120 different species. Established as an arboretum - a living laboratory - by some of the university's earliest academics, you'll find out about some of the benefits of such urban trees as well as get up-close to a selection of the most iconic and interesting species.
This is the first guided tour of UCC's tree collection in living memory and is not to be missed!
Please note: this tour takes place outside regardless of weather conditions. Please wear suitable clothes and footwear.
The tour will start from the UCC Visitor Centre in the North Wing of the Quadrangle. This event is free and open to all but numbers are limited so registration is essential.
There is no parking on campus for this event. Public transport, walking and cycling options are outlined here.
