About this Event

A series of insightful, intellectually stimulating and thought provoking short talks delivered by leading UCC academics on their research and how the outcomes impact on society and on your life.

The event will be chaired by Dr Jean van Sinderen-Law, Associate Vice President, and will consist of four or five diverse topics, delivered in an informative and stimulating way by UCC academics. The session will conclude with an opportunity for you to comment, provide input and to exchange ideas.

This event will take place in the Banking Hall of UCC Centre for Executive Education at No. 1 Lapps Quay from 17:30 to 19:15.

Thursday November 28th

  • Professor Fiona Kearney: Museums do it with lights on – learning through seeing
  • Professor John O’Halloran: Dipping dippers: local responses to global challenges
  • Professor Thia Hennessy: What’s the beef? Is there a future for livestock agriculture?
  • Professor Cian O'Mathuna: The future of sensors: Sensing the future

Following the talks, there will be a facilitated discussion from the audience followed by tea/coffee and networking.
