UCD MGA (Medical Graduates Association) 2021 Distinguished Graduate Awards

About this Event
The first event in this series whereby we will aim to offer a ‘reunion and memory type feel’ to graduates who join us, will take place on Thursday 28 January from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
The first Award Recipient will be Dr Paul O’Byrne, Class of 1975. Dr O’Bryne, M.B., B.Ch., B.A.O., FRCPI, FRCPC, FRCP, FRCP is an Irish Canadian Respirologist, who is currently Dean and Vice President-Elect, Faculty of Health Sciences and Dean of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine McMaster University, Ontario, Canada.
This event will focus on a lively conversation between Dr O’Byrne and Prof Keane, exploring ‘our time’ at UCD School of Medicine, memories of that time, the speciality chosen by Dr O’Byrne and the reason for that choice, significant career related highlights and challenges and thoughts on the current medical education trajectory and the future for current medicine students.
The next two events in this 2021 MGA Distinguished Graduate Award series will take place on;
· Thursday 25 February @ 7.30 - 8.30pm - Award Recipient - Sr Marian Scena Award, Class of 1975. Doctor & Coordinator, Faraja Hospice and Palliat, Faraja Centre CBHC, Tanzania
· Thursday 25 March @ 7.30 - 8.30pm - Award Recipient - Dr John Donohue, Class of 1967. Retired Consultant Nephrologist
