About this event

Uganda Independence Day, has always been a source of national pride for many Ugandans. Since gaining independence in 1962, Uganda has been referred to as the “Pearl of Africa.” The following years were full of positive and negative accomplishments.

Uganda, with a population of over 45 million people, is located in East Africa and is known for producing the world’s most natural jewels: pearls. Parades and performances are typically held nationwide to commemorate Uganda Independence Day.

Here in Ireland, Ugandans and their families together with top Irish Government Officials will mark the 60 years of Uganda’s Independence. The celebration will reflect on the country’s exciting history, culture, food and dance. There will be great entertainment and performances from cultural groups, saxophonist Dolapo Omojesu and guest artist Sarah Ndagire from the United Kingdom.

To top it up our own Monte The DJ and Delicious Ugandan dishes. You will spoilt of choice!!
