Event description

Description

Join us for the last edition in the 2017 series, which focuses on how laws and regulations shape city organisation. In conversation will be corporate lawyer and academic Jens Lowitzsch [DE] and transport lawyer at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection of Germany, Harald Schoen [DE].

+++

Urban Knights is a programme of events, which provokes and promotes practical approaches to urban change. The programme brings together people who are actively producing alternatives to our given city infrastructures, norms and perceptions. urbanknights.org

Established in 2013 to date Urban Knights has taken place in Dublin, Berlin, Aberdeen, Vienna and Bristol.

+++

On the 7th, Jens will discuss how we can maintain Berlin’s river Spree through citizen owned energy cooperatives, limited partnerships and Consumer Stock Ownership Plans. Harold will be addressing the impact autonomous cars and drones will have on established principles of law and city mobility.

Each speaker will present their work for 10-mins, followed by conversation and questions from the audience and host Teresa Dillon. Presentations are initially kept short with the aim to create a salon atmosphere where the key themes of the session are introduced and time is provided for discussion and engagement.
