Have you got what it takes to tell a good story?
We are looking for stories using Galway Traffic Data and examining the impact of Public Projects.
A YDS ‘Storython’ will take place in the Lifecourse Building (ILAS) at NUIG on Friday 27th October 2017 from 4pm to 7pm as part of the Your Data Stories EU Horizon 2020 project www.yourdatastories.eu.
The event will involve multi skilled teams creating stories from traffic data and project data from Galway City using the YDS platform www.platform.yourdatastories.eu and other tools.
The expected outcomes of the event will be twofold:

Create stories.

Document the process.
The Storython will involve 4 teams of 5-6 participants with each team competing to create the best digital story from the data available. All registered participants will be given a briefing document in advance. Each participant should bring their own laptop. Wifi will be available.
The skills required are as follows:

Data experts (who will manipulate and organise the data)

Journalists / Bloggers (who will write the story)

Programmers / IT specialists (who will provide IT skills)

Business analysts (who will document the process)

Community activists with an interest in transport (who will discuss Galway transport)
The event will be scheduled as follows.
4.00pm Once upon a time, teams will arrive for a briefing session
4.30pm Teams will have two hours to complete their stories
5.30pm Then pizza will arrive
6.30pm Teams will gather together to tell their stories
7.00pm One team will leave victorious but all will live happily ever after
Tea and coffee will be available for the duration of the event.
