Description

Well Below 2 °C: Progress and Challenges in Meeting the Paris Agreement’s Goals

Interdisciplinary discussion on the future of the Paris Agreement and climate change mitigation.

Little more than 1,5 years after the successful negotiation of the major climate change action treaty - the Paris Agreement - major developments took place which impacted the international context.

Different questions raise: What will be the future of the Paris Agreement's goal of capping global temperature rise? Will regional efforts be sufficient, are we dependent on states to take action, or is technology the only way to deal with our impending environmental problems?

The goal of this interdisciplinary discussion is to fuel new insights into the debate and share ideas, hereby bridging the borders that faculties and disciplines may pose.

The discussion will take around 2 hours, in UCD Sutherland School of law, room L249.

Everyone is welcome.

Pizza and hot beverages will be provided.
