Building Resilience/Promoting Wellbeing through and after the Pandemic (for you, and also for those with Family)

This 1 hour webinar aims to provide evidence-based, self-help information and tips for getting through difficult times, based on psychology, neuroscience, resilience research and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

John Maguire has more than 26 years education and experience in the field of Counselling & Psychotherapy with specialty training in CISM, Trauma work, Stress, Anxiety and anger Management.

John is accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist with IACP since 2008 and holds higher certification in CISM, Trauma Stress and Anxiety Management, Couple Counselling, Men’s Issues, Sexual Abuse, Bullying and harassment in the workplace. John has developed and delivered courses and workshops on Mental Health Issues to the corporate sector. John has facilitated over 200 Critical Incident Responses for the Corporate and EAP sector, as well as the Public Sector. As a Critical Incident Responder John has recently supported staff in Facebook, EBAY, PayPal arising from exposure to explicit and disturbing content. John is an EAP Professional with 10 years’ experience working with Employee Assistance Programmes, delivering support and counselling to the corporate sector. John is a qualified and approved Advanced CISM Responder to EAP providers and the Corporate Sector and has a full understanding and working knowledge of EAP programmes. In August of 2015 John achieved approved CISM instructor/Trainer status with The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and was tutored by Jeffrey T. Mitchell, Ph.D. Co-founder – ICISF. John recently achieved Professional Certification in Group Facilitation

Before his professional career in Counselling & Psychotherapy John was a volunteer for 16 years with the Dublin branch of the Samaritans where he was responsible for the training and induction of new volunteers. John was heavily involved with the Samaritan outreach programme and was a member of the team that delivered promotional talks to schools collages and community groups. John worked with the Dublin Airport Authority for nine years developing and delivering courses and workshop to staff and stake holders at Dublin Airport.

John was a founder member of ISANDS (Irish Stillbirth and Neonatal Death society) an organisation setup to support parents who lost their babies around the time of birth.

John began his Professional career in Counselling & Psychotherapy in 2002 and has achieved:

Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy; Accredited membership of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists; Membership of the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation; ICISF Approved CISM Instructor

Diploma in Suicidology. (Postvention), Higher Cert in Gestalt Therapy, Higher Cert in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cert in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cert in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cert in Group Therapy, Cert in Couple Counselling, Cert in Bereavement Counselling, Cert HSE Assist (Suicide First Aid), Cert HSE STORM (Suicide Prevention), Cert Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace and Fetac Level 6 (Merit) Train the Trainer. John is a wellbeing specialist providing on site counselling and support to staff.

John is also a practicing, qualified and accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
