About this Event
TCD Staff Only - all Staff
The government guidelines on healthy eating are very clear and a comparison of what was recommended in the 1950s by the US government, is not very different to what the Irish government recommends now. And yet, the age old question, “What should I eat?” continues to cause confusion. This workshop will answer that question from a health promotion perspective. It will give an overview of the diet industry and what it has to gain from muddying the waters about food. It will clarify how you might change what you eat if your focus is on food from a scientific, artistic, ethical and/or social perspective. It challenges the ambivalence about what is “good food” and highlights eating as an opportunity for nutrition, pleasure and social interaction.
This event is online.
