Description
The mini-symposium will look to take the broad theme of research in science education and is open to all those who may wish to present completed or on-going research projects (post- graduate or post-doctoral) that involve science teaching and/or science education. Research areas may be either practice based or theoretical discussions.
The main aim of the symposium is to bring researchers and practitioners from across the Western European region together to discuss and help develop our own research projects and interests and to explore the possibility of collaborative developments, particularly in light of the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Framework. It is hoped that the symposium will be useful for practitioners and researchers at every stage of their career, but those new to research, or who are in the process of developing ideas are particularly welcome.
The two-day symposium will be a mixture of short presentations, workshops and discussion groups, particularly aimed at collaborative approaches to research and an exploration of the opportunities that Horizon 2020 may present. Feel free to attend for any part of the two-day period. Registration costs are €75 per delegate for the two days with reductions for students and part-attendance.
If you feel that you would like to attend and visit Dublin this autumn and/or would like further information please visit the IOSTE website or contact either Dr Roger Cutting: rcutting@plymouth.ac.uk (for registration, paper submissions or other conference matters); or Dr Orla Kelly: okelly@cice.ie (for accommodation, travel or local information for Dublin). We welcome ideas for presentations, workshops and discussion sessions. Submission guidelines will be sent on request. Deadlines for submissions is Friday 20th September 2013.
