About this event
Whale Tales is the annual meeting of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, where members and people interested in whales, dolphins and porpoises in Ireland are invited to join us in our shared appreciation and admiration these charismatic animals.
The IWDG invite you to their annual meeting where you can meet members and officers of the IWDG, hear stories from 2019 and look forward to the next year. This year the IWDG have organised a full day of social and structured events spanned across two days.
The event will take place at the Green Isle Hotel at Newlands Cross, Dublin 22 (www.greenislehotel.com). The event is free to members but will cost €30 for non-members. Teas and coffees in the morning will be provided but participants will get their own lunches in the hotel carvery. A special rate of €85 (single) and €95 (double) B&B for Friday night has been offered.

10:00: Welcome to the IWDG Whale Tales meeting
10:15 - 10:45: Look back over interesting sightings and the Sightings Schemes (30 minutes)
10:45 - 11:15: Look back over Strandings and the Strandings Scheme (30 minutes)
11:15-11:45 – Meet and Greet Officers and Directors during a COFFEE BREAK
11:45-13:00: Celtic Mist, summer sailing experiences and plans for 2020
13:00-14:00 LUNCH
14:00-15:00 Invited Speaker Dr Conor Ryan will share his experiences and stories travelling the world working with whales and dolphins in remote places.
15:00-15:30: Education and Outreach and Local Groups
15:30-16:00: 2020: Plans and Ideas for the coming year and how members can get involved – help steer the group
