WHAT IS LIFE? A lunchtime lecture series hosted by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS), exploring this question from a number of perspectives.
"What is Extra-terrestrial Life?” on Thursday, 21st March will be the first in a four-part lecture series featuring Professor Peter Gallagher, Head of Astronomy and Astrophysics at DIAS. This lecture will be an exploration of 'Exoplanets, Earth-like planets, SETI - what next, life?'
To mark the end of the 75th year anniversary of Professor Erwin Schrödinger’s 'What is LIfe?' lecture series, DIAS is hosting this four-part lunchtime lecture series exploring this question from a number of perspectives. Professor Erwin Schrödinger’s was the first Director of Theoretical Physics at DIAS and delivered these lectures in 1944 under the auspices of DIAS.
A representative from each of the four schools at DIAS will deliver a lecture adressing the question 'What is Life?' from the perspective of their own studies.
