What Would the Countess Say? by Martina Devlin
One hundred years ago this year, Constance Markievicz made history when she took office as the first female Cabinet minister in Europe. In another first, the new Dáil Éireann met in Dublin’s Mansion House.
To mark this landmark occasion, Lord Mayor Cllr. Nial Ring is hosting a special performance of Martina Devlin’s play about her – What Would The Countess Say? Directed by Margaret Dunne, the play will be staged in the Oak Room of the Mansion House on Sunday 12th May 2019 at 2.30pm.
The play will be followed by a discussion with the playwright. A small exhibition of Countess Markievicz-related memorabilia will also be on display.
Admission is free and by ticket only.
