Where Mountain Kisses Sea - Twisted Lane Productions

Where Mountain Kisses Sea is an immersive experience originally created in response to the landscape of Connemara. It is a meditation on the question ‘what does it mean to be a strong woman?’. It explores the female body in a rural landscape, drawing on the legends of the women who have gone before, current politics surrounding the female body and the hidden strength in perceived female weakness.

Utilizing fragmentation as a form of storytelling, Where Mountain Kisses Sea is presented as handwritten stories and carefully curated objects housed in glass bottles that are placed around a selected section of coastal beach. Each bottle stands alone within the main theme, but together they weave the many facets and contradictions of female strength.

Guided by The Woman, this gentle performance invites an audience to slow down and engage with their environment. Each audience members experience will be unique to the order and way in which they engage with the stories and objects.
