MEDITATION: John Keane 30 year’s Experience
I visit a small local park most days. I notice little children climbing on to the base of a small water fountain to reach the water basin. I see the parent rushing to prevent the child from falling. The child wants to climb unaided. I also noticed an under 2-year old girl running wild and her father trying to catch her. I was amazed at her confidence. The child has an inbuilt intuition or intelligence. As children grow up they appear to lose this awareness through fear, anxiety, uncertainty, faulty beliefs, family problems, impossible expectations by parents and so on.
The regular practice of Meditation restores you to this original intelligence and teaches you to live your life rooted in the BEST of yourself, i.e. to do your best with the resources available to you and respect your limitations. Discovering this fundamental truth is freedom. This freedom is Love, rescuing yourself from illusion, anxiety and fear. This meditation requires time and commitment to meditating once a day for 20 minutes.
The purpose of the WHO AM I? workshop is to put into words what is emerging in Meditation: you experience yourself to be truthful, well-adjusted, happy, peaceful, intense, solid, fully and only yourself. The more you live the more you have a hunger to grow (up)!
In your actions you feel confident, without rigidity, strong and tenacious, yet flexible and patient.. With others you feel open, all the more so because you have grown in self-confidence.
These are aspects of the Best of you which emerge slowly and surely as you persevere in meditation. This is a gradual process as the factors that block you from living your life fall away. The old habits, obsessions, addictions, hurts and pains, unconscious reactions are slow to diminish and very rarely disappear completely.
