Event description
Wild Food Foraging workshop

About this Event

Join Julie Smyth from Wild Food Ways for a wild food foraging workshop on the wild and beautiful Cul Ban Organic farm. Go for a leisurely walk and learn how to identify all the wild plants and trees found growing on the farm. We will spend time discussing the edibility and traditional, modern and herbal uses for each plant and we will also discuss the many different methods of collecting and preserving the wild plants and how we can do this safely and sustainably.

The walk will be followed by lunch prepared from a combination of home-grown, wild and locally sourced ingredients. There will also be a selection of wild foods and refreshments preserved from past seasons for tasting. You will then learn how to make an infused oil from a wild plant which we will then use to make a salve with a sample for each participant to take home.

This workshop is geared towards adults who are new to foraging and is limited to 10 places. Unfortunately due to the covid restrictions I am unable to have children at this workshop. This is an outdoor event so please come prepared in case of wet weather. Booking is essential, phone 0874172047 for more information.
