Join me in the stunning Avoca Valley for a 2 hour sunrise hike to the mottee stone followed by a yin yoga session and lunch.

About this event

Suitable for beginners our day will start at 7.00am when we will meet at Hartin Hall, Castlemacadam Church in Avoca. I will provide details on the lunch menu and take your order.

Our day will start with a sunrise walk to the mottee stone via the Avoca Miners cross. There are some hills, but the views are worth it.

This will include a short break, and opportunity for a snack.

We will return to the hall, via the East Avoca mines.

I will then guide you through 1.5 hour yin yoga practice, which aims to target deep connective tissue in the body including ligaments, bones and joints. As opposed to a more active flow class, yin yoga involves passive stretching, and mostly focused on floor based poses. Yin yoga encourages you to completely relax in the pose, softening the muscle in order to move closer to the bone.

Our lunch will then be freshly delivered by a local cafe.

Hopefully you will come away calm, clear and totally relaxed.

What you will need:

  • Water (for hike and yoga class)
  • Snack
  • For the hike we recommend you wear layers, and a waterproof rain jacket
  • A change of clothes might be required as some trails can be wet and/or mucky
  • Good walking/hiking shoes
  • Transport (to get to the starting point)
  • Yoga Mat
  • Blanket
  • A sense of adventure :)

To note:

  • Spaces are limited for the escape.
  • Much as we'd love to, we can't have dogs on the hike
  • Weather permitting we might complete our yoga practice outdoors overlooking the valley.

I specialise in beginner and intermediate yoga classes to help people get moving after a time away from excercise.

The classes are held in a variety of locations including in parks, beaches, gyms, studios and online.
