A live concert performance of wintry songs and sounds for very young children and their parents at Uillinn

About this event

Fiona Kelleher (composer vocalist and early years artist ) and Jim Murray (renowned guitarist and accordionist) host a musical journey celebrating the beauty and comfort of winter through music and song.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Fiona Kelleher is a leading early years artist and vocalist who composes music for very young children. Her music has featured in film and theatre productions for children. She produces work for children in community settings as well as collaborating with artists of various disciplines to produce integrated artistic projects. She has been both a lead artist and collaborator on many projects in Early Years work in Ireland with the BEAG project (Graffiti Theatre), Music Generation, The Ark Cultural Centre for Children and Ceol Connected. She continues to write, produce and research as an Early Years artist and vocalist with new music to be released in late 2021 and early 2022.

Jim Murray is one of the leading lights in traditional guitar playing in Ireland, touring and recording extensively. Over the last two decades, Jim has toured and recorded both nationally and internationally with many of Ireland’s renowned artists. Jim has combined a wide range of music and influences to create a unique and exciting modern sound in guitar accompaniment. Work features on recordings of many of Ireland’s most prominent artists such as Sharon Shannon, Seamus Begley, Donal Lunny, Paraic Rynne and Tara Breen to name a few.

As per government instruction anyone over 13years old will be asked to produce paper or digital Covid-19 vaccination or Recovery Certificate and proof of identity to be checked on arrival.

Arrive 15 minutes before the event start time to allow for staff to guide you to your seating.

Please follow physical distancing guidelines upon arrival and exit.

Please sanitise your hands upon entry and exit of the building.

All attendees over the age of 13 MUST wear a face covering at all times during arrival, throughout the event and until they have exited the building.

Your details will be held for contact tracing in line with Government guidance.

Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre is a hub of arts activity right in the heart of Skibbereen. Its two main galleries house contemporary art exhibitions that intrigue and inspire, presenting artwork by local, national and international artists and a programme of guided tours, gallery talks and free gallery resources such as the Discovery Box for families and Children's Activity Sheets.
The three Artists' Studios provide space for Irish and international artists to work on site and to meet the public and the Dance Residency brings top-class contemporary dancers, choreographers, performers and musicians to Uillinn to develop new work and present it to the public throughout the year.
The vibrant and diverse education programme enriches the visitor experience through workshops, masterclasses, dance and discussion platforms and encourages equality of access for people of all ages and cultures through its long-term programmes and projects.
Many of the programmes and events are free of charge.
