Event description

Description

  • Looking for ideas to make your volunteer programme even better?
  • Interested in sharing your own experience to benefit others?

We all tend to face similar types of challenges in our roles, whether it's recruitment and selection, day to day management or developing our programmes. Join us for the Dublin City Volunteer Managers Network on Thursday 16th May to collaborate and find solutions to some common issues we face.

The Organisation - WALK

Through their Training, Employment and Community Living programmes, WALK supports people with intellectual disabilities to live self determined lives. Their vision is an inclusive society where communities value and treat all people as equal citizens.

Wisdom of the Crowd

WALK will outline some challenges they currently face. The issues will be discussed by the group, using our collective experience to offer advice and find solutions.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller

The event will provide a great opportunity to network, exchange ideas and build relationships with other Volunteer-Involving Organisations in Dublin city.

Agenda:

  • 10.15 - Registration, refreshments and networking
  • 10.30 - WALK presentation and group discussions
  • 12.00 - Close

Dublin City Volunteer Managers Network

The Network is an opportunity to meet like-minded volunteer coordinators, exchange experiences, seek advice and ultimately help you build and maintain a high quality volunteer programme.
Volunteer management can be very rewarding and hugely beneficial for the wider community, but we also know that there are plenty of challenges volunteer managers have to face on a daily basis. The Network is a relaxed and informal atmosphere, where you can openly talk about volunteer management and get ideas from ourselves and other volunteer coordinators.
What you can expect:

  • Opportunity to meet other Volunteer Managers and hear about their experiences
  • Get some creative ideas on how to make your volunteer programme even better
  • Meet the Volunteer Centre team and find out about the services we offer
  • Enjoy a morning cuppa!
