GPBuddy.ie and Dr. Deirdre Lundy continue their exciting collaboration on a series of Women’s Health study mornings across Ireland.


Each study morning will be three and a half hours long with a 25 minute coffee break.

  • 08:30 – 09:00: Registration, Tea & Coffee

  • 09:00 - 10:45 HRT / Menopause (including Q&A)

  • 10:45 - 11:10 Coffee Break

  • 11:10 - 13:00 Women's Health Masterclass (including Q&A)


Dr Lundy will be cover the following topics:

Menopause

· physiology, diagnosis & management of the menopause to include

· HRT practical Rx guidance

· including contraindication & special precautions

· heavy bleeding and hormonal imbalance

· lifestyle /non HRT alternatives


Contraception

· we will cover ALL options; hormonal, non hormonal, long and short acting

· their contraindications, first time Rx protocols, providing informed consent, side effects and trouble shooting same... also non contraceptive uses of popular contraceptives,

· Placement tips and tricks for IUCDs and Implants.

As well as covering contraception and the menopause, we will cover topics such as STIs, continence and subfertility, general points on medical abortion and we will have updates on all of the current women’s health guidelines.

The study mornings are researched, written and presented by Dr. Deirdre Lundy. Dr. Lundy is a GP from Bray, Co Wicklow who also is the ICGP coordinator for reproductive and sexual health courses and a LARC trainer. She founded and helps run the New National Maternity Hospital's GP led Menorrhagia & IUCD clinic and also founded and helps run the new GP-led Menorrhagia & IUCD clinic at The Rotunda Hospital.


CPD accreditation will be applied for.
