Description

The inaugural #WorkEqual conference - 'Practical Steps to Workplace Equality' - will take place at The Marker Hotel, Dublin, on Wednesday 27th November, as part of the annual #WorkEqual campaign by Dress for Success.

The conference will play host to leading international figures from business, politics and civil society, at the forefront of the fight for gender equality in the workplace.

Topics on the conference programme include:

  • Learning from global leaders in workplace equality;
  • Why women drop out of the workforce – and what we can do about it;
  • Preparing for gender pay gap legislation in Ireland; and
  • The role of men in achieving workplace equality.

The line up includes:

  • UK journalist and author Christine Armstrong, whose book, ‘The Mother of All Jobs’, explores how work has changed in the last 20 years and the pressure this has created.

  • Tatjana Latinovic, Chair of the Icelandic Women's Rights Association and a member of the Gender Equality Council at the Prime Ministry of Iceland since 2017.

  • Hayley Barnard, Managing Director and Diversity Strategist at MIX Diversity Developers, whose clients include BAE Systems, Deutsche Telekom/T-Mobile, Diageo and the Care Quality Commission. Hayley has advised a range of clients on how best to respond to the gender pay gap legislation that was introduced in the UK in recent years.

  • Marc Paul, Business Affairs Correspondent and Columnist with The Irish Times, will MC.

  • Emer Bucukoglu, Senior Reward Consultant at Innecto Reward Consulting, whose major clients to date include Charles Tyrwhitt, ITN, The Crown Estate, AQA and Innocent Drinks, as well as a vast number of fast-growth SMEs.

  • Shane Dempsey, Director of Communications at the Construction Industry Federation and initiator of the ‘Building Equality’ campaign, which aims to promote equality of opportunity in the construction industry.

  • Orla O’Connor, Director of the National Women’s Council of Ireland.

  • Dominic Hannigan, former Labour Party TD and Senator.

  • Emmet Malone, Football Correspondent with The Irish Times.
