Event description

Description

Brazilians in Ireland remain very cultured and active group in Ireland and have grown in recent years due to the influx of Brazilian students coming to pursue their educational interests. That's the beauty of modern Ireland.

As part of the 2nd edition of 'Brazil meets Bray' we will be hosting a panel discussion on creating spaces of expression for Art and Sport in Ireland where Brazilians can fully participate. The panel will give examples and discuss how best this can be done or how improvements may be made.

Brazilians bring with them new art and as always talented people in specific areas such as capoeira, Latin dance amongst other original forms of artistic expression that have been recognised internationally in Art and sport. How is Ireland beginning to enjoy these forms of expression and exactly where? We invite you to join our panel in exploring these questions with us on the 27th August 2017 at 3pm.

We will be joined by Monika Sapielak from Centre for Creative Practices, Ken McCue from Sport Against Racism Ireland- SARI, Ray Yeats from Dublin City Council and Brazil representative.

The workshop is free but places are limited so RSVP is required.

This workshop is part of the programme for the second Brazil Meets Bray event with food, live music, performances, crafts and prizes!
