About the Expert

Duane Raymond

Duane Raymond is the founder of FairSay. He has been a pioneer of digital campaigning in the UK and Europe since 2001 when he was Oxfam GB's first ecampaigning manager and grew the online supporter base from 5,000 to 400,000 in 3 years. He has followed digital campaigning since the early 1990s, made his first web site in 1995, used the Internet since 1989 and used computers and networks since the 1980s.

Duane is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading ecampaigning experts and pioneers. He pioneered Oxfam GB's e-campaigning activity from 2001-2004 and has been running FairSay - a campaigning consultancy - ever since. He has been called the 'leading ecampaigning guru' by Linda Butcher, ex-CEO of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation and the 'godfather of good geekery' by Tom Allen of ActionAid International. He has worked with many of the world’s leading campaigning organisations and campaigns, including Greenpeace, Oxfam, Amnesty, WWF, Make Poverty History, 1Goal Campaign and many more.

When not delivering trainings, he is analysing campaign performance, helping craft campaigning strategies, working hands-on as part of a campaigns team, organising the annual eCampaigning Forum events (since 2002) and being the benevolent dictator of the 1,800+ campaigner strong eCampaigning Forum global community.

eCampaigning Masterclass with Duane Raymond

Duane is also teaching a day-long eCampaigning Masterclass in Dublin on Tuesday 12th September. Details and booking are also on EventBrite; each event must be booked separately.

FAQs

I'm not with a non-profit - can I attend this event?

Irish Charity Lab events are primarily for non-profits. However, as we've had a lot of interest from agencies and service providers, we're going to test something. We'll make three spaces at this event available to agencies, consultants and service providers at this event, and will charge commercial rates for those tickets. If you are with an agency or a service provider, or are a consultant, please book the correct ticket.

The best way for agencies or service providers to engage with our community is as event sponsors - you can send multiple people, and present to showcase your expertise. if you're interested in sponsoring this or any other events, contact us on hello@irishcharitylab.org.

What's the refund policy?

As we are a small non-profit organisation with limited resources, we ask that if you need to cancel your booking, you give us enough time to re-sell your ticket. If you cancel an event up to a week in advance, we will fully refund your ticket. Events that are cancelled with less than five working days notice cannot be refunded; apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

If you need to cancel and request a refund, you can do so through EventBrite. If you need to cancel at short notice, you can transfer your ticket to a colleague.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Please fill out the name(s) of the actual attendee(s) rather than the person booking the ticket. If you need to transfer your ticket to a colleague, that is no problem - you can change the name on your ticket by following these instructions.

Is there a limit on the number of people that can attend from my organisation?

Yes – you can send up to three people from your organisation. We restrict tickets to three per organisation to ensure that there’s a good mix of people at each event, and also so that as many organisations as possible have the opportunity to attend. If you would like to arrange training for more than three of your staff, we would be happy to talk to you about a custom training session in your office – contact hello@irishcharitylab.org.
