Event description
Workshop teaching practical skills you need for entry level jobs in Television.

About this event

Most work in television is on a freelance basis. After you get experiences as a production assistant or a runner, your next position will be as a researcher or production coordinator. Productions want to know that you can hit the ground running if you are hired for one of these jobs and there are practical things that you need to know.

Sorcha Glackin, a producer and director, with 17+ years experience in television is hosting this workshop to teach these practical skills. Sorcha started her career as a researcher and knows what is required from researchers and production coordinators on productions. She has worked on shows such as Dancing With The Stars and The Voice of Ireland, as well as producing award winning and critically acclaimed documentaries.

Skills you will learn at this workshop include;

- Casting for television.

- How to write a brief

- How to compile a call sheet

- How to do a risk assessment

- How to organise and plan a shoot
