Happy with the government's policies on solar renewable energy? No? Neither are we!
Want to do something about it while having some fun and kickstarting the Halloween bank holiday weekend? You've clicked to the right place.
Young Friends of the Earth are hosting a FANCY DRESS run from outside of Dail Eireann to help highlight a petition that will be presented to the government a little later this year to ask for a fair and stable price for solar energy and the ability to sell that energy back to the electric grid.
You can sign the Run On Sun petition here
The run will start outside Dail Eireann at 5:30 sharp (while there is still daylight) after a few photos for the cover of Time magazine** and proceed to loop around St. Stephen's Green while making lots of celebratory noise before retuning to Dail Eireann, just to mke sure they're listening to us up there in their ivory towers.
Dress up in any way you like, but bonus points go to those dressed up in energy or environmental themes.
Did we mention that a Ben & Jerry's ice-cream voucher will await you at the finish line? Yayy!!
You have to ask yourself can you really afford to miss out on FREE ICE CREAM???
The run won't be chipped, timed and there won't be any medals - because WE ARE ALL WINNERS!
PS: You don't have to run - walkers, moonwalkers, cyclists, unicyclists and all other forms of human fuelled transport are welcome and encouraged.
**Photos not guaranteed to appear on the cover of Time magazine (but all media forms will be used, including hopefully some national press.)
Please come 10 minutes early to get into our group costume snaps.
