Event description

Description

This activity is suitable for teenagers aged 16-18 years and will begin with a visit to the exhibition Poulaphouca: New Paintings & Works on Paper, by Sam Reveles where teenagers will be encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and opinions about selected works on view. After this, they have an opportunity to make their own work in response with artist Sibyl Montague.

The workshop will respond to the work of Sam Reveles, using a variety of approaches to create rapid, performative drawings and paintings. Drawing based techniques such as automatic drawing, cubomania, decalcomania, cut -up and collage will be used to create original, experimental artworks. Participants will explore new and alternative ways of generating artwork that focus on intuitive and performative ways of working.

Encouraging teenagers to express their opinions, learn about art and use a variety of interesting and exciting materials to create their own art works, is integral to this workshop.

If you need any further information, please call Pauline at 056 7761106.

If you cannot contribute the ticket fee to the workshop, please contact Pauline and we will waive this fee.
