Event description
Z E I T is a live electronic music collective and a performance platform for new and established Irish ambient and experimental artists

About this Event

Presenting our fourth Z E I T event which lands into Clonmel for an evening of live electronic music producing an immersive aural and visual experience into electronic soundscapes.

We are delighted to present four collaborative performances in a unique industrial space within the premises of the Showgrounds Shopping Centre in Clonmel.

Fresh from their successful run of performances in recent months at the Clonmel Junction Arts Festival and more recently at Culture Night in this venue, as mentioned on RTE 1 radio show Arena; The Clonmel Laptop Ensemble will once again perform an improvised set consisting of computer generated machine code accompanied by analogue synthesizers and melodic keyboards.

Supporting their performance will be modular synthesist Dave O'Mahony, who has just completed his PhD research in the psychology of creativity in music composition at the University of Limerick.

Dave is a member of Irish Sound Science and Technology (ISSTA) and has an interest in the brainwave manipulation of modular synthesizers.

Also performing will be electronic music composer Michael Jones who has recorded and performed as Bouvetøya for many years at electronic music events in Ireland and the UK.

Bouvetøya uses a heavy sequencer driven style of electronica reminiscent of the Berlin School genre pioneered by Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream in the 1970s.

He will be accompanied on piano by Eamon O'Malley, Eamon is an established piano accompianist and founder and Musical Director of the UpRoar Rock Chorus as well as co-founder of The Clonmel Laptop Ensemble.

Opening the event will be O P E R A T O R; a collaborative project featuring artists Sheenagh Geoghegan and John O’ Dwyer.

Collaging and layering field recordings, spoken word performance and digital electronic production techniques to create sound works that acknowledge the confusions, contradictions and dilemmas that speak to our shared multiplicity of selves.

So book early to secure your seat for this unique event.
