Coronavirus FAQs

When is lockdown over in Ireland?

According to the latest government event guidelines, from September 6, organised indoor events can take place with capacity limits of 60% of venue capacity. But all patrons must be immune (either fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 within the previous six months). For indoor live music, entertainment, or sporting events, the audience should be fully seated.

Meanwhile, organised outdoor events can go ahead with a limit of 75% of venue capacity – as long as all patrons are vaccinated or immune. It's a good idea to read up on health and safety for outdoor events to mitigate any risk.

How do I cancel an event on Eventbrite?

If you have to cancel or postpone an event, it's important to communicate with your attendees and issue refunds. Once you've completed these key steps, select the "Cancel" link in the Event Dashboard to cancel your event in the system. For step-by-step instructions, take a look at our useful event cancellation guide.

If an event is cancelled, the refund you issue to a ticket buyer will include the entire purchase – the ticket price and any service fees. If an event is postponed, you are not required to issue a refund if you choose not to. Check out this article for an overview of our fee policies in the case of a cancellation or postponement.

How do I write an email to postpone an event?

If you have to postpone or reschedule your event, it's important that you communicate this with your attendees via social media and email. For help with how to write an email to postpone an event, take a look at our templates and check out our detailed guide.
