Science Visuals Coworking Sessions
We organize these sessions because we believe in the importance of creating a community of peers, to discuss relevant topics and support each other's process. We do it on a voluntary basis. Here is some information about the organising team. Let’s stay in contact!
- Luna is an Italian visual science communicator who uses illustration and 2D animation to tell about nature and environmental topics. At the end of her Master’s degree in Environmental biology, she found an interest in sci-comm. A few years later, after a post-grad course and exploring it in many forms, she realised that what makes her happiest is collaborating with researchers and scientific organisations to create science visuals. She is currently working to establish herself as a freelancer. Website
- Stjepan is a scientific illustrator and visual communicator based in Switzerland. Having started out in economics, he developed an interest in design and communication. He explores how complex ideas and concepts can be made more accessible through the use of engaging imagery. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work with clients from various fields, collaborating at the intersections of design, data, storytelling and science, thereby creating engaging and innovative approaches to science communication. He is currently working as an infographics designer, as well taking on individual projects on a freelance basis. Website
- Núria is a freelance information designer based in Finland, where she moved from Barcelona. She creates visuals to explain science, from scientific illustration to data visualization. With a PhD in the natural sciences herself, she works tightly with the academic community and helps them produce visual outputs of their research and research processes. Website
- Lorenzo is a molecular biologist and visual science communicator. He works for the Joint Research Center of the European Commission in a program about Science for Policies. Lorenzo has some experience as an event organiser for science events and museum exhibition design, and he is currently specialising in building science visuals, especially animations, to show what happens in the human brain at a microscopical level.
