Stephen Malagodi

I was born in Wilmington, Massachusetts in 1953. In the mid 1960s my family moved to South Florida and in 1977 I landed a job at WLRN Radio in Miami, which was part of the then nascent National Public Radio Network. I stayed with WLRN for 35 years as an on-air host, special programs producer and award-winning host of a long running avant-garde music program. As such I was deeply involved in the emergence of the South Florida art scene, as well as with the New Music America Festival and numerous “alternative” live music productions. I was also heavily involved in the South Florida Composers Alliance other producing organizations. After my retirement from WLRN, I moved to Lowell Massachusetts in 2017.
