Dublin Decoded

Dublin Decoded, founded in March 2014 by the freelance art historian Arran Henderson, is one of the most highly-regarded walking tour companies in Ireland.  Established to provide an alternative to both the high quality but "history-only" tours and also to offerings aimed at the budget/backpacker mass market, "Decoded" leads friendly, sociable but ultra high-quality walking tours for small groups that provide history, detail, discussion, anecdote and social history, combined with a constant eye on the national and international historical and art historical context of every stop on our walks.     

Dublin Decoded have collaborated with some of the leading cultural institutions in the capital, including tours for the Irish Georgian Society; Culture Night; Dublin History Festival; Open House (Irish Architecture Foundation); and Failte Ireland, the national tourism agency. 

Routes:  Our classic tours include "Medieval Walls" ; "Medieval Mass to Georgian Splendour" (two great exploring walks, with map in hand), as well as three specialist Georgian Tours (Georgian East, West and North) our Rathmines and D4 walks, our lovely Victorian Masterpieces tour. New routes added all the time.  We also run Treasure Hunts, both for public, private and corporate groups.

Public Tours.  We run public tours, open to all about 1-3 times per month March-October, as scheduled events open to everyone.  We will often take you to places you were unaware of, and/or often get special sites opened up for our visitors/groups.  To receive alerts when a walk is going ahead, please see our website, the link is just under our name at the top of this page.  Join the mailing list (see below) to receive notification of scheduled walks.

Private Tours:   All walks on our tour menu are also available, year-round and on flexible dates as private tours for your own pre-booked private group.  Usual rates €160 flat rate on weekdays for groups from 1 to 10 visitors.   On weekends Saturdays or Sundays €180 per group up to 10 visitors. (Simply add €5 per person for groups over 10).
