Joan Pires

Joan is a qualified Dance and Movement therapist from Roehampton  University and a BA (Hons) Dance Graduate from Laban, London. Though her highest qualification is being a mother of three children and figuring out how to take care of them and work at the same time.  Mumba Dance was Joan's own creation which was motivated by teaching dancing to Adults and Children with her babies on the premises.  She noticed how her daughter cooed at every Hip Hop jump, shrieked at every Salsa spin and slept at every rock of the waltz.  Mumba Dance was thus created 12 years ago.  She pioneered it with her children as her demonstrators and dance partners.   Her children have passed the light and liftable stage but she is blessed with all your children everyday of her working life.

Joan beleives dance is the best medicine.
