MindReading
An international interdisciplinary collaboration that aims to build teaching capacity, research expertise and clinical practices to enhance the healthcare experiences of young patients and those who work with them. MindReading has worked since 2017 to engage with those involved and interested in the healthcare of young people from patients, carers and the wider public to clinicians and researchers. MindReading's conferences and events have involved collaboration between UCD School of Medicine, UCD School of English, Drama and Film and University of Birmingham Department of English Literature, with the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and the DLR Lexicon.
Mind Reading is a linked project of Health, Ethics and Narrative Ireland (HEaNI), a collaborative, interdisciplinary network bringing together a wide range of researchers to build a vibrant community of practice and research around ethical and creative narratives in clinical education and practice. It specifically aims to develop and evaluate models of medical education and practice that address reflective approaches through narrative in relation to illness and the body. HEANI seeks to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and meaningful exchange between clinical, ethical and creative academic practices.
