Network in Play

This is a pilot research and community project established by Dr. Aphra Kerr (Maynooth university and gd.ie) and Vicky Twomey-Lee (Coding Grace).

We would like to bring together experts in informal and formal education, and industry representatives, to form a network that will collaborate to analyse, address and raise issues of diversity in the games industry and games culture in Ireland.

We will use this network to firstly, organise some field research to assess current informal educational offerings and secondly, follow up with a series of workshops that explicitly address issues of diversity in games.

The project began in Feb 2016 and will run, at least initially, until Autumn 2016. Our pilot is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council in Canada via the ReFiG project.
