Notre Dame-Newman Centre for Faith and Reason
The Notre Dame-Newman Centre for Faith and Reason is a pilot project of the University of Notre Dame in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Dublin.
We are honoured to take up the Archbishop Diarmuid Martin's invitation to help maintain and build upon Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman's legacy of prayerful and beautiful liturgies, intellectually engaging preaching, as well as lectures and concerts in the beautiful Church on St. Stephen's Green whose construction he oversaw.
Cardinal Newman wanted his Church to be a centre of intellectual life for the Church as well as a house of worship, and Newman himself left a legacy of essays, sermons, poetry, and letters that continue to enliven and deepen our understanding of the faith in the context of modern culture.
We at the Centre are honoured to bring the cultural and intellectual resources and vision of the University of Notre Dame to this hallowed ground in this renewed effort to present the faith in a plausible and searching way in the 21st century.
