Raku 楽 Theatre

Dublin's only Japanese theatre group

ダブリン拠点に活動する日本人劇団Raku楽Theatreです。

Raku 楽 Theatre was founded by director Maki Mutai, who has a background as a theatre actress and in the last decade has directed plays in Japan and Ireland. She is a firm believer in the notion of community and the power of community as a source of and a place to express human happiness, solace and enjoyment. The theatre contributes to the Japanese community in Ireland, is acted by members of that community and is rewarded by the support from that community. But it also is an informal and enjoyable way for Irish people to involve themselves in that community. This sense of Raku 楽 Theatre as part of a real Japan-Ireland international cultural relationship is being fostered and it is growing.
